It is perfectly understandable in this current climate why so many people get SAD. We british don't seem to have good weather for very long and so when we do, we make the most of it. Our making the most of it today involved going to a local reservoir for a nice play in the park, spot of lunch and kick about.
It's always amused me that owners of convertible cars take their roof down as soon as the sunshine appears. I thought they were a select breed. But apparently this is also true of people and their clothing. The sun appears and short summer skirts, strappy tops and flip-flops emerge from people's wardrobes.
I, on the other hand, was wearing my usual layers to keep me warm. Summer clothes have their place for 20 degree heat. Today's mid-April sunshine was not in this category. However, it has lifted that SAD feeling and as I sit looking out of my front window, the clear blue sky is a reminder of the spring time and the new life and light it brings.
I may not have fully embraced it, but today I count my blessing of sunshine. #countyourblessings
